I’m excited to share something special with the Leading a Lifetime of Life Skills community. I recently had the opportunity to join the WGU Alumni Podcast to talk about my journey from titleholder to teacher and how that path led me to advocate for life skills education.
Throughout my journey, whether serving as Miss New Jersey Volunteer, working in my classroom as a Family and Consumer Sciences educator, or building my initiative Leading a Lifetime of Life Skills, one thing has remained constant: a passion for helping young people gain the practical skills they need for adulthood.
On the podcast, I share:
My path from competing in pageants to becoming an educator
Why life skills education matters now more than ever
The inspiration behind Leading a Lifetime of Life Skills
Lessons I’ve learned about leadership, service, and perseverance
My hope is that listeners walk away encouraged to pursue their goals, embrace growth, and recognize that the skills we learn along the way shape the impact we can make in our communities.
I’m incredibly grateful to Western Governors University for the opportunity to share my story and highlight the importance of life skills education.
